1. Who we are
This site is operated by 500Degrees Pizza Italiano (“500 Degrees”, “we”, “us”), trading at 78–80 Crewe Rd, Alsager, ST7 2HA. We are the data controller for any personal data collected through this website and over the phone.
You can contact us by phone on 01270 421878.
2. What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the restaurant and respond to enquiries:
- Contact details you give us when you call, email, or book a table (name, phone, email, party size, date and time).
- Order details processed by our third-party online ordering provider (see “Sub-processors” below) — we do not store payment-card details on this website.
- Server logs automatically recorded by our hosting provider (IP address, page requested, timestamp, user agent) for the limited purpose of keeping the site secure and online.
This website does not currently load analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set.
3. What we use it for
- Taking and confirming reservations or orders.
- Responding to enquiries you send us.
- Keeping the website fast, reliable, and free of abuse.
- Complying with our legal obligations (e.g. tax and accounting records).
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for advertising profiling.
4. Legal basis (UK GDPR)
- Contract — to fulfil a reservation or order you have placed.
- Legitimate interest — to keep the site secure and respond to enquiries that aren’t yet under a contract.
- Legal obligation — to retain financial records as required by HMRC.
- Consent — only if and when we introduce optional cookies or marketing.
5. Sub-processors
We use a small number of trusted third parties to run the site and the business. They process your data on our behalf under written agreements:
- Vercel Inc. — website hosting and serverless functions (server logs).
- Online ordering provider — operates 500degreesalsager.co.uk for online orders and table bookings; their privacy policy governs that flow.
6. Cookies
The website itself does not set tracking cookies. Essential cookies may be set by the third-party online ordering platform when you place an order through it. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
7. How long we keep your data
- Reservation enquiries: up to 24 months from your last interaction.
- Order and accounting records: 6 years (HMRC requirement).
- Server logs: up to 30 days for security investigation.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of your personal data (subject access).
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete data we no longer need to keep.
- Object to or restrict processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the legal basis.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 1. If you aren’t satisfied with how we’ve handled your request, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
9. Security
Personal data is held on infrastructure that uses encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access is restricted to staff who need it to run the restaurant. No system is perfectly secure — if we ever become aware of a breach that affects you, we will notify you and the ICO as required by law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the business or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the current version.
11. Contact us
For any privacy question, write to us at 78–80 Crewe Rd, Alsager, ST7 2HA, call 01270 421878, or use the contact details on our Visit section.
